Obituary

Raymond Otto Matejovsky age 94, of Lake Geneva, WI passed away peacefully at his home on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2020, after a short illness.

He was born September 20, 1926 in Chicago, IL., to Otto J. and Anna (nee Papousek) Matejovsky. He graduated from Morton High School in 1944. He then enlisted in the Marine Corp. on January 20th, 1945 at Great Lakes Naval Academy in Great Lakes, IL., USMC-WWII- PFC- until November 12. 1946., serving his country during WWII on Guam, guarding the POWs. He married Beatrice Madaus on March 13, 1948 and they were married until her death in 2006. He was a Union Carpenter all his life, working for Campenelli Bros., building custom homes in Wethersfield (Schaumburg, IL).

He is survived by three children, a son Wayne (Patricia) Matejovsky, two daughters, Shirley (Michael) Havlik, and Roxanne (Michael) Hamlin. He is survived by seven Grandchildren, Stephen and Timothy Havlik, Scott and Joseph (Julie) Hamlin, Rose McHugh, Ryan Pstrong, Amy (fiance Bill Mignin) Pstrong and five Great-Grandchildren, Tanner and Kyleigh Havlik, Aidan Hamlin, Alex and David Pstrong.

A private family visitation will take place at the funeral home. Graveside service and burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery (1101 Cemetery Rd, Lake Geneva) at 12 p.m. NOON on Monday, November 16, 2020 with Pastor Bob Kamps of the Como Community Church officiating. Full military honors will be conducted following the service.
