Marilyn J. Taylor, 88, of Lake Geneva, WI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and animals on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Marilyn was born in Chicago on April 19, 1933, to the late Peter John and Marian (Morge) Witry. She also joins her beloved brother Peter Jay. She was a graduate of Academy of Our Lady in Chicago and Women’s College of St. Ambrose College and also attended the Art Institute of Chicago.
Marilyn spent her childhood with her horses, ballet lessons, playing piano, painting, modeling, and was an avid dancer winning many contests. She often attended the Opera and Ballet in Chicago with her mother. She shared her father’s passions for fishing, golf, and baseball and she adored watching her grandson Anthony, play ball. She loved sailing, photography, running her many entrepreneurial pursuits; she won awards raising chickens, hens, and rabbits. She had a sharp mind, a strong and unwavering spirit…a true gypsy at heart. Long before it was trendy, she was eco-friendly by gardening, composting, building a water purification system, recycling and repurposing.
Marilyn traveled the United States falling in love with the Grand Canyon, mountains, oceans, and nature. She passed on her passion and devotion to her children; her sense of humor to Tommy, family commitment to Dawn, music to Lisa, academics to Mari, love of the sun and ocean to Sean.
Mom loved Lilacs, Lily of the Valley, her shephard Brat, kitten Angel, Momma, Buddy, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an exceptionally close relationship with her daughter Dawn, one was never seen without the other, best friends and holding hands to the end.
